Ah, the coffee table book! One of our most important styling tools for project installs, and also a great gift for the design minded friend or family member on your list this year. You can style them opened or closed, in an entryway or living room, stacked or standing on a bookshelf - they're really workhorses for a space! Instead of your standard gift guide, we thought we'd round up our most popular coffee table books for you to choose from. Be ready with your next hostess gift, holiday gift, or a gift to yourself!
Here's a breakdown of just a few of our favorites - you can shop the full list at the bottom of this post.
feels like home: relaxed interiors for a meaningful life
The book description couldn't have said it better:
"The book includes practical design information, with never-before-seen case studies on a variety of homes including a farmhouse, a home in the woods, a Spanish colonial, and other more traditional homes. Each case study explores a hardworking design aspect (such as proportion, scale, and color), while also focusing on the emotional aspect of the home. The chapters are inspired by the following themes: comfort, calm, excitement, belonging, carefree, love, and contentment."
We appreciate the holistic look that Lauren takes to spaces in this third book of hers, and the distinct example she provides to show that design style is truly personal.
ad at 100: a century of style
We love the history this book showcases, and of course a minimal graphic, neutral cover never hurts for styling purposes! You'll get a look into the private residences of celebrities and designers pulled from the archives of Architectural Digest over the past 100 years. We love seeing what people found most important about home design throughout the last century!
collective wisdom: lessons, inspiration, & advice from women over 50
The importance of sharing perspectives has been and is so critical to more empathy for the next person's circumstances, and this book does that beautifully. It is also a tribute to the importance of intergenerational connections between women, with interviews conducted by daughters, friends, mentors, and colleagues with women between 50-100 years old. A great read all around, and a fantastic gift for the young woman in your life.
This book is titled perfectly. Gray Malin is known for his coastal drone photography, but this book features more than 22 destinations across 11 countries, and also includes highlights from Malin’s conceptual photography. A great art book to peruse and see exotic destinations in a new way!
Great escapes mediterranean: the hotel book
We're suckers for amazing hotel experiences, and this book in the Great Escapes series does not disappoint! If you have a traveler on your list, this is a great gift and guide to their next Mediterranean adventure! They feature a five room hotel at the base of a volcano, and completely remote stays that you may not know about yet!
Do you already own any of these? Or do you have a book that you would add to the list? Share the love in the comments - we find gems in comment sections all the time! Happy shopping, friends.
