Holiday Decor Ideas with Brave & Maiden Estate

When our project manager Deanna started with us, she mentioned she really liked wine, and asked if we had ever worked with a winery. We had not at that point. Fast forward one week later, the beautiful Santa Barbara winery Brave & Maiden Estate reached out inquiring about holiday decor! We took that as a sign and signed on for this fun and unexpected project. You may have caught a few sneak peeks of this install last week, but we got photos back so quickly that we can actually share some holiday decor ideas from this install with Brave & Maiden. Have a look at our design boards below, and feel free to take some inspiration from us for your own home! The main goal was to keep the decor more minimal, in line with the architecture of the tasting room. We were playing with steel doors, large glass windows out to the winery, and natural and organic textures in their day to day decor. Because of this base, we were striving for a modern holiday setup with an emphasis on great plant life, rather a traditional red and green theme. Our design board outlined our ideas for their tasting room and the library space: Warm, cozy textiles; minimal plaid patterns in throws and pillows Natural greenery for tree, faux wreaths for future use Focusing primarily on warm tones throughout, not typical vibrant Christmas colors Textural pieces to bring more visual interest; stockings on fireplaces Battery powered wreaths for entry gates My mom, the seamstress extraordinaire who hates when I give her any credit, custom made the stockings from the same fabric as our best-selling Teddy pillow in the pillow shop! We also added that beautiful rust colored velvet ribbon for an extra layer of texture for the stockings. One of the main factors when designing the space was trying to make the winery's investment stretch over at least a few years. While I am a strong believer that nothing beats real greens, we were able to mix high quality faux and real garland on the mantles to make it look realistic, but to allow for that repeated use (letting their investment stretch further than one season). This way the decor will be looking fresh and beautiful whether you visit the winery at the beginning of December or the end! Have a scroll and see how these spaces came to life! Since I had the whole team there, I took the opportunity to give them the afternoon off of work, while we sipped some beautiful wines in the new festive space! I'm so thankful for this growing team and for all the work they put in to make our client's dreams a reality. Such a refreshing way to spend some time together! It's always a refreshing change of pace when we do projects like this, and hopefully we'll be coming back in years to come to add on layers in their holiday decor (and for some more wine tastings). What type of look are you going for this year in your holiday decor? Let us know in the comments!
